Unlike other technology available today, the Ecoremedy® technology is specifically designed to use the constituents in the feedstock (where applicable) to scrub pollutants. For example, the presence of ammonia in poultry litter can be captured to effectively reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the air emissions. Ecoremedy®’s configuration controls the release of ammonia gas from the litter and channels it to the point of combustion where the ammonia gas dissociates with nitrogen oxides and reduces NOx generation. No other technology optimizes the presence of ammonia in the litter as effectively resulting in lower NOx from Ecoremedy® systems which corresponds to lower control measures if necessary.

Similar to the self-cleaning effect on NOx, Ecoremedy® uses the high concentration of alkali materials in the litter to scrub sulfur oxides (SOx) and hydrochloric acid gas (HCl). The unique quiescent bed of Ecoremedy® produces a bottom ash where the sulfur is captured in the form of calcium sulfate (an excellent fertilizer ingredient) and the fly ash is nearly pure potassium chloride (KCl), another valuable fertilizer and feed ingredient.
Advanced Industrial Resources, Inc. (AIR), Kennesaw, Georgia, conducted independent emission tests on September 24, 2008. The study was conducted to determine the amount of Nitrogen Oxides (NOX), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Oxygen (O2), Chloride (Cl), emissions that are present in the effluent gas stream exiting the Boiler and Baghouse exhaust ducts. Testing was conducted in general accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) test methods. The poultry litter gasified during the test contained the following concentrations (percentage by wet weight basis) - Nitrogen: 2.7%, Phosphorous (P2O5): 2.6%, Potassium (K2O): 2.7%, Chlorine: 1.8%, free water (H2O): 64.2%


Subsequent testing by Avogadro Environmental Corporation of Easton, PA confirms the excellent self-scrubbing properties of the Ecoremedy® gasification process and apparatus.
