MABA Symposium Features Ecoremedy Project Update

Ecoremedy Joins Hazen and Sawyer in Leading-Edge PFAS Study

June 17, 2024

Ecoremedy has joined Hazen and Sawyer in a groundbreaking study at the Edmonds, Washington wastewater treatment plant project. The results will determine to what degree Ecoremedy’s Fluid Lift Gasification™ system – in combination with the thermal oxidation of syngas – can destroy PFAS in biosolid byproducts and air emissions. Analysis of the testing results is being conducted by Mostardi Platt with faculty and students from Manhattan College and the University at Buffalo.

Ecoremedy celebrated Earth Day in Edmonds, Washington – site of the company’s newest project – by distributing growable planter kits to members of the community who visited the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The event served as a platform to showcase Ecoremedy’s innovative Fluid Lift Gasification™ process that greatly reduces emissions and contributes to a cleaner Puget Sound. The plant’s gasification system is now fully commissioned after logic rewrite and bin/conveyor modifications to meet the city’s desired change to a 24/7 operation.

EPA Sets New PFAS Standards at Zero

April 11, 2024

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing this rule after reviewing extensive research and science on how PFAS affects public health while engaging with the water sector and state regulators to ensure effective implementation. EPA also considered more than 120,000 comments on the proposed rule from a wide variety of stakeholders. More details about the final PFAS drinking water standards. For PFOA and PFOS, EPA is setting a Maximum Containment Level Goal – a non-enforceable health-based goal – at zero.

Edmonds Gasifier Produces FLG Sand From Biosolids

April 5, 2024

Ecoremedy’s Fluid Lift Gasification™ system at the Edmonds, Washington wastewater treatment plant is now producing FLG Sand™, which results when biosolids are processed in the gasifier. The material meets the criteria for Class A biosolids. It can be used as a stand-alone sand product or blended to produce high quality topsoil. The sand provides granularity that improves aeration and drainage. More than 50 billion tons of sand are used annually in the construction industry.
