Continue ReadingAll eyes will be on Morrisville over the next year as Pennsylvania-based Ecoremedy carries out a demonstration project at the Morrisville Municipal Authority (MMA) aimed at significantly reducing the environmental and financial costs of biosolids management while saving ratepayers and being a good steward to the environment. Through a partnership with the MMA, Ecoremedy will build, own and operate a sludge conversion facility at the existing treatment plant in the Manor Park section of the borough that will convert sludge into biochar using its patented Fluid Lift Gasification technology.

The facility is designed to convert Morrisville’s dewatered biosolids to renewable energy for process use and a nutrient rich, activated carbon product. The process requires no supplemental fuel. Design capacity is 75 tons per day of dewatered biosolids with Initial operations limited to 20 tons per day average throughput. Worth & Company is the general contractor for the project.

While earning his engineering degree from Penn State University, Chris gained valuable thermodynamic experience while participating in a special project with Oak Ridge Laboratory in Tennessee. Chris will be deployed for one year to the Ecoremedy Biosolids to Beneficial Products facility located in Morrisville, PA where he will operate the company’s Fluid Lift Gasification™ process with a focus on IP development.
